Certification of Permanent Cessation of Power Operations for Thn.:e Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit I On May 30, 2017, Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon) announced that it plans to prematurely retire the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station (TMI), Unit I due to severe economic challenges.
Therefore, pursuant to JO CFR 50.82(a)(l)(i) and 10 CFR 50.4(b)(8), Exelon certifies to the U.S . Nuclear Regulatory Commission that it has decided to permanently cease power operations at TMI, Unit I on or about September 30, 2019 .
There are no regulatory commitments contained in this submittal.
