An unannounced
radiological controls inspection was conducted by J. Noggle at the
Susquehanna
Steam Electric Station (SSES) on January 21-24, 1992.
The inspection
involved review of areas important to worker health and safety.
The inspection findings
were discussed with your staff at an exit meeting on January 24, 1992. Areas inspected
included the response
to a hydrogen burn that resulted in injury to a worker, HP
organization changes,
outage preparations,
review of ALARAannual values and.
initiatives, and dosimetry implementation.
The response
provided by your staff to an injured and contaminated worker was well
done.
Review of station annual ALARAresults and review of the external dosimetry
program were both very positive.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were
identified. No response
to this letter is required.
