preparedness
exercise
was conducted
by Hr.

Gordon of this office,
and other members of an
NRC
team,
on February
16-18,
1988 at your Susquehanna
Steam Electric Station,
Units
1 and 2, Berwick, Pennsylvania.
Discussions of our findings were
presented
by Nr. Gordon to you and other
members of your staff at the
conclusion of the inspection.
Areas
examined during this inspection
included observation of the annual
exercise
and. follow-up of findings identified during previous
emergency
preparedness
inspections
and exercises
as described
in the
NRC Region I
inspection report which is enclosed with this letter.
Within these
areas,
the inspection consisted of selective
examination of procedures
and repre-
sentative
records,
interviews with personnel,
and observation of the
emergency
exercise
by team members.
Within the scope of this inspection,
no violations were identified.

performance
during the exercise
demonstrated
the ability to implement the
Emergency
Plan
and
Emergency
Plan
Implementing Procedures
in a manner that would provide adequate
protective
measures
for the health
and safety of the public.
