V. Pullani of
this office on February
11-15,
1985, at Susquehanna
Steam Electric Station,
Units
1 and 2,
Salem Township,
of the safe
shutdown capability
of the plant in the event of a fire and other activities authorized
by
NRC
License
Nos.
and
NPF-22 and to the discussions
of our findings held by
Mr. Pullani with Mr. H. Keiser of your staff at the conclusion of the
inspection.
Areas
examined during this inspection
are described
in the
NRC Region I
Inspection
Report which is enclosed with this letter.
Within these
areas,
the
inspection consisted
of selective
examinations of procedures
and
representative
records,
interviews with personnel,
and observations
by the
team.
Within the
scope of inspection,
two violations were observed.
In addition,
one of your activities appears
to be
a deviation from your commitments.
Eight
items remained
unresolved at the
end of the inspection.
The above findings
are described
in the attached
Inspection
Report.
The violations are set forth in the Notice of Violation enclosed
herewith
as
Appendix A.
The deviation is setforth in the Notice of Deviation enclosed
herewith
as Appendix B.
You are required to respond to the enclosed
Notices,
and in preparing your response,
you should follow the instructions specified
therein.
The responses
directed
by this letter and the enclosed
Notices are not subject
to the clearance
procedures
of the Office of Management
and Budget,
otherwise
required
by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980,
PL 96-511.
Information contained within the enclosed
inspection report
has
been discussed
with Mr. H. Keiser of your staff on February
15,
1985.
During this discussion,
it was concluded that the inspection report contained
no information that you
