RIVER BEND STATION, UNIT 1; VERMONT YANKEE NUCLEAR POWER STATION; WATERFORD STEAM ELECTRIC STATION, UNIT 3-2017 ONSITE INSURANCE SUBMITTAL REVIEW FOR ENTERGY OPERATIONS, INC. AND ENTERGY NUCLEAR OPERATIONS, INC. (CAC NO. TM3058)

Pursuant to Title 1 O of the Code of Federal Regulations (1 O CFR) Section 50.54, "Conditions of licenses," licensees are required to report to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) on April 1, of each year, the current levels of onsite insurance or financial security that they maintain and the sources of this insurance or financial security as specified in 10 CFR 50.54(w) (3). The insurance required must have a minimum coverage limit for each reactor site of either $1.06 billion or the amount of insurance generally available from private sources, whichever is less.

By letter dated March 30, 2017, Entergy Operations, Inc. and Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc.

(collectively referred to as "Entergy") submitted a summary of onsite insurance to demonstrate compliance with 1 O CFR 50.54(w)(3) for its licensed reactor sites. The NRC staff acknowledges that the current levels of insurance for the licensed reactor sites for Entergy meet NRC requirements, and that the source of this insurance is Nuclear Electric Insurance Limited.

The NRC staff acknowledges that the current levels of insurance for the licensed reactor sites and ISFSI facilities for Entergy meet NRC requirements, and that the source of this insurance is Nuclear Electric Insurance Limited.

On March 1, 2017, NRG issued an Order (ADAMS Accession No. ML17041A196), approving transfer of James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant Renewed Facility Operating License and the generally licensed FitzPatrick ISFSI from Entergy to Exelon. The Order was executed on March 31, 2017 (ADAMS Accession No. ML17090A188).

Insurance reduced to $50,000,000 pursuant to an exemption granted by the NRG on April 15, 2016 (ADAMS Accession No. ML16012A197).
