1986 at the Susquehanna
Steam Electric
Station,
Units
1 and 2, Berwick, Pennsylvania.
The findings of our inspection
were discussed
with Mr. Blakeslee of your staff at the conclusion of the
inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection of your Chemistry
Program consisted of
selective
examinations
of procedures
and representative
records,
interviews
with personnel,
and observations
by the inspector.
Our Mobile Laboratory
was also brought to your site
and used
by the inspector
to make certain
independent
measurements.
The purpose of these
independent
measurements
is to verify your capability for analyzing radioactive effluents,
and to achieve
and maintain comparable
methods of analyses
between your
~ facility and the
NRC.
The complete data
from these
measurements
will be
'unreported
in a subsequent
Inspection
Report.
ithin the
scope of this inspection,
no violations were observed.
In
(accordance
with 10 CFR 2.790(a),
a copy of this letter
and the enclosure will
be placed in the
NRC Public Document
Room.
