Steam Electric Station for the period of February

1985, initially forwarded to you by our July

1985 letter

1).
This
SALP evaluation
was discussed
with you and your staff at
a
meeting
held
on July 30,
1985
(see
Enclosure
2 for attendees)
.
We
have
re-
viewed your August 1,
1985 written comments
(Enclosure
3) and herewith transmit
the final report (Enclosure 4).
Our overall assessment
is that you and your staff demonstrate
competent
manage-
ment,
exercising
good control of activities,
maintain
a positive attitude
and
continue
to
be responsive
to
NRC concerns.
Two arear'here
improvements
are
needed
are the surveillance
program
and fire protection.
We recommend that you
continue your management
approach that encourages
conservatism,
aggressiveness,
openness,
and
a straight forward approach
to problem resolution.
We
acknowledge
your August
1,
1985 letter stating that
PP&L does
not plan to
submit any additional
comments
on the
SALP report.
