Susquehanna Unit 2 Seismic and Dyna'mic gualification Review and Audit Pennsylvania Power 5 Light Company (PP8L) letter from N. W. Curtis to A. Schwencer dated December 17, 1982 on Susquehanna Unit 2 SgRT audit indicated the following:

1.

Successful SgRT audit was conducted on Unit 1 equipment.

2.

There are very few differences between Unit 1 and Unit 2 in the equipment, its installation, or the environment in which t it operates.

For example, a review of BOP SgRT items has shown over 300 items with Unit 1 to Unit 2 similarity and only 13 items unique to Unit 2.

3.

In most cases the Unit 2 SQRT documentation will be satisfactorily accomplished by referencing Unit 1 documentation, by completing the SORT, forms, arid by. listing the Unit 2 plant identification numbers to which it'pplies.

These documents for Unit 2 will be filed within the applicable Unit 1 binders.

In those cases where calculation or an'plyses.are required to, support minor differences the, necessary documentation will -be

= prepared and included following the SgRT forms.

The staff has found the above position on the S(RT audit review of the Unit 2 acceptable pending the staff review of the above melitioned unique

='tems, for both NSSS and BOP scopes, and the applicant's confirmation of their qualification.

It should be emphasized that the staff criteria in thi.s Unit 2 S(RT review is based on the "differences" between Unit 1

and Unit 2 equipment.

Such differences" should include, but not be limited to, equipment type, response

spectra, location, mounting, placement,

testing, analytical techniques, or procurement procedures between Susquehanna Unit 1

and Unit 2.
