1 DOCKET HO. 50-387 HOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE 7590-01 Notice is hereby given that the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Coenission (the Com-mission),

has issued Facility Operating License Ho. HPF-14 to Pennsylvania Power 8

Light Company and Allegheny Electric Cooperative, Inc. (the licensees)

~hich authorizes operation of the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, Unit tto.

1 (the facility), by Pennsylvania Power and Light Company at reactor core power levels not in excess of 3293 megawatts thermal in accordance with the provisions of the License and the Technical Specifications.

Authorization to operate beyond five percent (164.4 megawatts thermal) is still under consideration and will require specific Commission approval.

Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, Unit 1 is a boiling water nuclear reactor located at the licensees'ite in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.

The license is effective as of the date of issuance.

The application for the license complies with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Comoission's regula-tion.

The Commission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Commission's regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license.

Prior public notice of the overall action involving the proposed issuance of an operating license was published in the FEDERAL REGISTER on August 9, 1978 (43FR35406).
