The following information is provided in response to IE Bulletin 80r03, "Loss of Charcoal From Standard Type II, 2 Inch, Tray Adsorber Cells."

Refer to our previous letters PLA-463 (March 25, 1980)and PLA-520 (July 30, 1980) explaining the delay in our response.

IE Bulletin actions to be taken (CP) 1.

Only one type of the subject cells is used at Susquehanna.

Results of visual inspection are provided in the attached inspection report.

This completes our response to IE Bulletin 80-03.

ANSI N510-1980 INSPECTION RESULTS:

1 kll five filters inspected showed no signs of screen casing separation.

2 Screen/casing integrity is maintained by spot welding screen to casing.

fields were on l" centers or less.

~ 3 The perforated screens are supported on 6" centers across the face of the filter.

4 The gasket around the fill/handle azea showed uniform compression and a tight seal.

.5 No evidence of charcoal leakage could be found at any seam or gasket.
