This review was
. initiated in response to Part 2.1.6.b of NUR1%-0578, R'INI-2 Lessons Lea3md Task Force Status Report and Short-Term Recxmnendations" and "Discussion.:of
'IMI Lessons ~ed Short~ RequirementssR The report was prepared to meet full~ requirements for plant shielding estabLished by NUHEG-0694, R'IMI-Related Requirements for New'Operating Licenses,"
and Part II.B.2 of NUREG-0660, RNRC Action Plan Developed as a Result of the 'IMI-2 Accident."
Specifically, the review accanplished two objectives:
o Identification of safety-related equipnent outside containment that may be adversely affected by the ~tion environment caused by-a degraded core accident; and, the determination of corrective actions necessary to protect this equignent; and o
Identification of vital areas required for post-accident oper-ations to which access or occupancy may be unduly limited by, the radiation enviroT)vent caused by a degraded core accident;
- and, the deter1nination of corrective actions necessary to provide for adequate access and occupancy.
