INSPECTION REPORT NUMBER 50-220/98-17
Dear Mr. Mueller:
This refers to the inspection conducted July 20 through 22, 1998 at the Nuclear Learning
Center of the configuration management controls of the Nine Mile Point Unit 1 simulator.
The inspection was conducted by Mr. C. Sisco of this office and Mr. F. Collins, NRR.
The Unit 1 simulator configuration and management controls were implemented properly.
The simulation facility is being maintained and operated
as certified in accordance with the
requirements of 10 CFR 65.45 and ANSI/ANS 3.5-1985, as endorsed by Regulatory
Guide

~ 149, Rev. 1, Overall, there was no evidence of negative training as a result of
simulator deficiency problems and of untimely or uncorrected simulator deficiencies.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations,
a copy of this letter
and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
