Dear Hr. Sylvia:
During the week of July '8,
1996, the
NRC administered initial examinations
to
five employees of your company
who had applied for licenses
to operate
the
Nine Hile Point Nuclear Station, Unit 2.
At the conclusion of the
examinations,
the preliminary findings were discussed
with those
members of
your staff identified in the enclosed report.
One of the three
RO applicants
failed the written portion of the examination.
The other
and both
applicants
passed all portions of the examination
and
have
been
issued
operating licenses.
Three plant operating
procedure
changes
were
made
as
a result of the
examinations.
These
necessary
changes
indicated
weak performance
in the
. development
and use of these
procedures.
In accordance
with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations,
a copy of
this letter and its enclosure will be placed in the
NRC Public Document
Room.
