USE OF NUREG-1465 SOURCE TERM AT OPERATING REACTORS NINE MILE POINT NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT 2 The NRC staff has received a number of letters, including yours, dated April 27,
- 1994, expressing interest in and applying for use of the new source term at their facility.
In order to carefully and'efficiently examine the applicability of the new source term information to operating reactors, the staff has opened a dialogue with the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), accepting their offer to serve as a focal point for interactions between the NRC staff and the industry.
A copy of our recent letter to NEI is enclosed.
We request that you work through NEI to communicate your views on the application of the new source term to the staff through NEI.
We look forward to working with the industry on this initiative.
