This refers to the safety inspection conducted by Mr. J. Furia of this office on April27-
May 1, 1992, of activities authorized by NRC License Nos. DPR-63 and, NPF-54, and to the
discussion of our findings held by Mr. J. Furia with Mr. K. Dahlberg and Mr. M.
McCormick and oth'er members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
This inspection included radiological controls for the second Unit 2 refueling outage, restart

operations, ALARA,internal dosimetry, respiratory protection, and external dosimetry.
Findings are described in the enclosed NRC Region'I Inspection Report.
Significant improvement in ALARAperformance was noted at Unit 2 and continued strong
ALARAperformance at Unit 1 was observed.
However, some radiological housekeeping
problems continued to be identified at Unit 2.
