NRC Region I Combined Inspection Report Nos. 50-220/91-20 and 50-410/91-20
This refers to the results of the resident safety inspection by Messrs. W. Schmidt, R. Laura, and
R. Temps from September
8 to October 5, 1991, at Nine MilePoint Units 1 and 2, Scriba, New
York. The inspection findings were discussed with members of your staff at the conclusion of
the inspection.
This inspection was directed toward areas important to public health and safety as identified in
the enclosed
inspection
report.
Within these
areas,
the inspection
consisted
of selective
examinations
of procedures
and
representative
records,
interviews
with personnel,
and
observation of activities in progress.
Our inspectors
found that conservative
management
oversight
and
safe facility operations
continued throughout the inspection period.
Overall, personnel performance at both units was
generally good.
