Nuclear Regulatory Comwssion (the Commission) has issued Amendment Ho.

42 to Facility Operating License Ho.

DPR-63 izsued.to Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation (the licensee) which revised the Technical Specifica ions

-,or opera.ion of the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, Unit No.

1 (the acility) located in Oswego County, New York.

The amendment is effective as o

its date o

issuance.

The revisions to the Technical Specifications involve incorporation of I

certain of the TMI-2 Lessons Learned Category "A" requirements.

These require-ments are related to (1) Emergency Power Supply/Inadequate Core Cooling, (2)

Valve Position Indication, (3) Containment Isolation, (4) Shift Technical

Advisors, (5) Integrity of Systems Outside Containment, and (6) Iodine Monitoring.

The application for the amendment complies with the s andards and requirements of the Atomic Eneroy Ac. o

1954, as amended (the Act), and the Cormission's. rules and regulations.

The Commission has made appropr-ate findings.as required by.he Act and the Comnission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I which are set forth in.he license amendm nt.

Prior public notice o

this amendmenz was not required since

The Commission has determined that
