Cumnings,.Direc.or Office of Inspector and Audito INQUIRY INTO HRR'S IYPLEt'.Et'TATIOH OF SHORT TERYi LESSOHS LEARNED CATEGORY A REQUIPE"EHTS In October 1980 an Office of Inspection ard Enforcement (IE) Health Physics appraisal team discovered that the Short Term Lesson Learned Categqry A requirement relating to increased range of effluent monitors had not been implemented at the Nine liile Point Nuclear Station.
The licensee's implementation of Category A reouirements had been reviewed by an Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (HRR) review team. which had
. visited the site in harch 1980 and had concluded that the licensee had satisfactorily met all Cateoory A require;, nis.
As a result of the HeaLth Physics 'appraisal t'earn's finding,'he question arose generally as to ~hat had actually been done by the HPR review teams which visited reactor sites to review these new require;;:ents.
Attached is our report on the results of our inquiry.
