Dear Mr. Giambusso:

In your letter of December 18, 1972 you requested certain analyses and documentation of the consequences of

,postulated pipe failures outside the containment.

Based on a preliminary analysis no significant problems have'been'i'den'tified whereby failure of steam or water lines would prevent safe plant shutdown.

However, more extensive analyses have been initiated in accord with your letter.

It has not yet been determined when the analyses will be completed.

We will inform you within a few days of, the expected submittal date for the analysis and any proposed design modifications.
