Nine Mile Point Unit No.

1 Docket No. 50-220

Dear Mr. O'eary:

The "Technical Supplement to Petition for Conversion from Provisional Operating License to Full-Term Operating License" for Nine Mile Point Unit 1 described plans to upgrade the off-gas system.

The proposed modifications will use hydrogen recombiners and charcoal adsorbers to further reduce gaseous effluents from the Station in keeping with the "as low as practicable" provisions of 10CFR Part 50.

We now wish to advise you of the schedule we are working toward for installation of this equipment.

Some modifications to existing equipment and structures may be undertaken during April and May in conjunction with the refueling outage scheduled for that time period.

Foundation work for an additional building which will be needed is planned to commence around the middle of May.

With this construction schedule, it is our intent to have the upgraded off-gas system fully operational by t)e summer of 1975.
