It has been brought to our attention that General Electric has developed a new calculational method for determining void coefficients.

The void coefficients are used in the transient analysis to determine the change of peak pressure and Minimum Critical Power Ratio limits associated with GETAB/GEXL Technical Specifications. To maintain the required conservatism in transient analyses it will be necessary to use the void coefficient determined by the new calculational method. Therefore, you are requested to inform the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, within 10 days from geceipt of this letter, as to how the new void coefficients will be accounted for in your forthcoming GETAB/GEXL submittal.

This request for generic information was approved by GAO under a blanket clearance number B-180225 (R0072); this clearance expires July 31, 1977.
