Re:

Provisional Operating License DPR-17 Docket No. 50-220 An amendment to Provisional Operating License DPR-17 is requested providing for an increase in the maximum quantity of Antimony 122-124, which.may be possessed at any one time.

Provision 2.C presently limits the quantity of Antimony 122-124 to 12,500 curies as five sealed sources not to exce'ed 2,500 curies each.

It is requested to raise the allowable limit to 25,000 curies as ten sealed sources not to exceed 2,500 curies each.

The reason for the change is to allow five additional sources to be on hand in the event the existing sources within the reactor have to be replaced; Repl'acement may be required due to decrease in source activity as a result of an extended shutdown.

Non-reactor storage of the Antimony shall be in its original shipping cask or, suitable container in the spent fuel pool+
