e UNITED STATES ATOMIC ENERGY COMMISSION DOCKET NO. 50-220 NIAGARA MOHAWK POWER CORPORATION NOTICE OF AVAILABILITYOF AEC DRAFT ENVIRON'KNTAL STATEMENT FOR THE NINE MILE POINT NUCLEAR STATION UNIT 1 Pursuant to the National Environmental Pplicy Act of 1969 and the United States Atomic Energy Commission's regulations in Appendix D to 10 CFR Part 50, notice is hereby given that a Draft Environmental Statement prepared by the Commission's Directorate of Licensing related to the operation of the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Unit 1 by Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation in Oswego County, New York is available for inspection by the public in the Commission's Public Document Room at 1717 H Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. and in the Oswego City Library, 120 E. Second Street, Oswego, New York 13126.

The Draft Statement is also being made available at the New York State Office of Planning Services, 488 Broadway, Albany, New York 12207 and the Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board, 321 East Water Street, Syracuse, New York 13202. Copies of the Commission's Draft Environmental Statement may be obtained by request addressed to the U. S. Atomic Energy Commission, Washington, D.C. 20545, Attention:

Deputy Director for Reactor Projects, Directorate of Licensing.

The Applicant's Environmental Report, as supplemented, submitted by Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation is also available for public inspection at the above-designated locations. Notice of availability of the Applicant's Environmental Report was published in the FEDERAL REGISTER on August 18, '1972 (37 F.R. 16692) .

Pursuant to 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix D. interested persons may, within forty-five (45) days from the date of publication of this notice in the FEDERAL REGISTER, submit comments on the Applicant's Environmental Report, as supplemented, and the Draft Environmental Statement for the Commission's consideration. Federal and State agencies are being provided with copies of the Applicant's Envigonmental Report and the Draft Environ-mental'tatement (local agencies may .obtain these documents upon request).

Hhen comments thereon by Federal, State, and local officials are received by the Commission, such comments will be made available for public in-spection at the Commission's Public Document Room in Washington, D. C.

and the Oswego City Library, 120 E. Second Street, Oswego, New York 13126.

Comments on the Draft Environmental Statement from interested members of the public should be addressed to the U. S. Atomic Energy Commission, Washington, D.C. 20545, Attention; Deputy Director for Reactor Projects, Directorate of Licensing.
