Dear Mr. Skovholt:
Regarding my letter of July 20, 1973 concerning the drywell vacuum breakers at Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Unit III1 the following infor-mation is submitted:
1.
Item 1 has been completed.
A redundant alarm circuit has been installed and is operational.
Both alarm circuits function on.05" or less of disc movement.
Thus the two commitments made to assure system operability during the period of time required to install the redundant alarm circuit, with the desired accuracy have been completed.
Therefore the dial indicators have been removed and the operability test following a suppression chamber transient have been discontinued.
2.
The Proposed Technical Specifications indicated in Item 4 of my July 20, 1973 letter are before the Safety Review and Audit Board (SR6AB) and will be sub'mitted for
'ommission review within one month.
