This is to inform you that in an attempt to be morc responsive to tha needs of the public, the Commission has established locations where mem-bers of the public can inspect documents rdlating to applications for nuclear power plants that arc currently under review or licensed for operation by'he Conu>>isaion.
These locations are in close pro:dmity to the nuclear facilities and, in most instances, arc in public libraries to provide easy access to the public.

DPR-17 issued by tne Coon>>ission on August 22, 1969.

1972, for construction of. Unit 2.
Ve will provide the abovo document room the following non-proprietary types of documents relating to tilesc EacL3Ltles:
NYiV 8 applications and amendments and chang s thereto; Con>>>>ission actions thereon; requests for additional infoxmation; HYP's environmental zeports and supplements thereto; AC Draft and Anal Enviroiu>>ental Statements and comments thereon; AgC Safety Lvaluations; Beports of tne Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards; operating, special and incident reports filed by NiiP; and any advice rendered by the:Attorney General and items x'elating to any public hearing that might bc held in the future in connection with these facilities.

- not be complete in that we only have provided copies of Construction Permit No.
CPPR-16 and Provisional Operating License No. DPR-17,'and all amendmcnts, changes and orders related thereto.
He hnve not provided copies of NHP's initial applications and amendments thereto for Unit 1 that were filed prior to January 1972.
Beginning January
- 1972, and henceforth, it has been and will continue to he provided with all of the types of items described in paragraph 3 above.
A copy of the above-referenced application by ICP dated June 7, 1972, for Unit No'i 2 will be forwarded to you in the near future by a separate letter.
All future amendments related to Unit 2 and requests filed in connection with Unit 1, and significant Commission actions thereon.will be forwarded to you for your information.
By a copy of this letter, the following local officials also are being informed of tho establishment of this document room.
They too will receive copies of Commission actions taken relating to these facilities.
