Your letter of November 20, 1972, requested analyses and additional information relative to the possible fuel densification at Nine Mile Point Unit 2.

The requested information has been submitted to the Commission" in a comprehensive generic report, NEDM-10735, "Densification Considerations in BWR Fuel Design and Performance,"

dated

December, 1972.

We have reviewed this report and find that the fuel design and operating parameters for Unit 2 are within the range of parameters analyzed.

From the analyses and data presented in this report, we.

conclude that no changes in design or operating conditions are necessary to maintain required margins for Unit 2.
