AEC HEARING ON PROPOSED NIAGARA MOHAWK NUCLEAR PLANT SET.FOR JANUARY 19 AT OSWEGO, N.Y.

An Atomic Energy Commission public hearing to consider Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation's application for a permit to construct.
a nuclear power plant has been set for January 19, 1965, at Oswego, New York.
The hearing will be held at 10 a.m.
in the main courtroom of the County Courthouse, East Oneida
- Street, Oswego.
It willbe'onducted by a three-member Atomic Safety and Licensing Board.
The hearing previously was scheduled for December 15.
The Licensing Board postponed the December 15 hearing in order to hold a pre-hearing conference requested by the company.
The hearing now has been rescheduled for'anuary 19, 1965.
Niagara Mohawk proposes to build a boiling water reactor at its Nine. Mile Point site on the shore of Lake Ontario seven miles northeast of Oswego.
The nuclear plant would have an initial output, of 500,000 net electrical kilowatts.
A copy of the Licensing Board's "Order and Notice of Hearing" is attached.

AEC HEARING ON NIAGARA MOHAWK.NUCLEAR PLANT POSTPONED; PE+HEARING CONFERENCE TO BE HELD DECEMBER 15 An Atomic Energy Commission public hearing scheduled for December 15 at Oswego, N.Y., to consider Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation's application for a permit to build a nuclear power plant has been postponed by the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board in view of the company's request for a prehearing 'conference.
I The prehearing conference will be held at 10 a.m.
December 15 in the Council Chambers of the City Hall at Oswego.
The time and place of the public hearing will be determined at the prehearing conference and will be an-nounced at that time. It is expected that, the hearing'ill be held in January, 1965.
The Licensing Board will conduct, both the prehearing qonference and the public hearing.
Niagara Mohawk has applied to the Commission for a permit to construct a boiling water reactor at the companyls'ine Mile Point site on the shore of Lake Ontario seven miles northeast of Oswego.
The nuclear plant would have an initial output of approximately 500,000 net electrical kilowatts.
The Licensing Board also has issued an order granting the petition of the State of New York, Office of Atomic and Space Development, to be made a party to the pro-ceeding.
A copy of the Licensing Board's "Order Postponing Hearing and Notice of Prehearing Conference" is attached.
