Dear Mr. Case:
On November 28, 1977 we provided information regarding a testing program for the electrical connectors at Nine Mile Point Unit 1.
This test program has been discussed with members of your staff.
To further clarify the test program, we offer the following:
1)
Preliminary findings of the Phase I testing are expected to be complete by December 16, 1977.
The Phase I testing will include post-loss of coolant accident environments without radiation effects.
The final report will be provided by January 9,
1978.
This test will generally follow the guidelines of IEEE 323, 1971.

Additionally, a Phase II test program will be initiated.
The electrical connectors will be qualified for the post-loss of coolant accident environment including pressure temperature, humidity and radiation.
In addition IEEE 323, 1971, will be used as a guide for this testing.
The Phase II test program is expected to be complete by April 1, 1978.
- However, we are investi-gating means to complete this program on an accelerated schedule.
