Review of SHINE Safeguards Information (SGI) Protection Program Procedures Date: Thursday, January 26, 2017 3:12:00 PM Attachments: SHINE SGI Program Draft Request for Additional Information.pdf

Jeff, By letter dated December 20, 2016 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System

[ADAMS] Accession No. ML16364A091), SHINE Medical Technologies, Inc. (SHINE) submitted its Safeguards Information (SGI) Protection Program procedures for U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) review.

In the course of reviewing SHINEs SGI Protection Program procedures, the NRC staff has determined that additional information is required to complete its evaluation. This information is necessary to demonstrate SHINEs compliance with the regulations contained in Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Parts 73, Physical Protection of Plants and Materials and 50, Domestic Licensing of Production and Utilization Facilities.

Therefore, the NRC has prepared the attached draft request for additional information (RAI). This draft is provided to ensure that the request is clear and understandable. SHINE should contact Steven Lynch with any questions regarding this draft request as soon as possible to arrange a time to discuss the RAI with the appropriate NRC technical staff.

The NRC staff asks that SHINE also review this draft RAI to ensure that proprietary or other sensitive information has not been inadvertently included. Should any sensitive information be identified, contact Steven Lynch within the next ten days. If SHINE does not identify any sensitive information within the next ten days, this draft RAI will be made publicly available.

In order to support the efficient review of SHINEs SGI Protection Program, SHINE should contact Steven Lynch to discuss an appropriate response time for this RAI.
