Site: SALEM Emergency Class: NON EMERGENCY "At approximately 0924 EST on 12/09/2016, one Atlantic Sturgeon was removed from the Salem Unit 2 Circulating Water System (CWS) Intake trash racks at the Salem Generating Station. The Sturgeon was alive upon retrieval. A report was made by Environmental Licensing to the National Marine Fisheries at 0951 and the NJDEP Division of Fish & Wildlife at 0954, concerning the Atlantic sturgeon.

"Nuclear Environmental Affairs has made a determination that this event warrants a 4-hr. report to the NRC under RAL 11.8.2.a."

The licensee will be notifying the state of Delaware and has notified Lower Alloways Creek Township and the NRC Resident Inspector.

Notified R1DO (Burritt) and the Endangered Species Resource via email.
