EMERGENCY TELECOMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS SITE SURVEY AT DIABLO CANYON The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is currently evaluating an upgrade of the Emergency Telecommunications System (ETS) utilized by 'all NRC licensed nuclear power plants, the five NRC Incident Response

Centers, th' NRC Operations
Center, and the NRC Technical Training Center.

As part of this evaluation, the NRC has contracted with I-NET, Incorporated (I-NET) to perform a site survey at your location.

The survey will consist primarily of

'iscussions between the I-NET survey team and your telecommunications and emergency preparedness representatives regarding the site's communica'tions capabilities and the feasibility of upgrading your ETS.

Additionally, the I-NET survey team would like to visit the site communications room(s),

control room, technical support center, NRC resident inspector's office, and, if appropriate, the emergency operations facility.

The I-NET survey team will require approximately three to four hours onsite.

Ms. Annette Sourmany, a representative from I-NET, will be contacting your emergency preparedness coordinator to schedule the visit at a mutually agreed upon date and time in October 1991.
