Diablo Canyon Units

1. & 2 Potential Employment Discrimination In'a meeting with us on November 22,
1991, Mr. Warren Fujimoto of your, staff brought to our attention an incident in which a

PG&E supervisor acted in an inappropriate manrier toward another employee during a meeting on your compliance with. Regulatory Guide 1.97..

Mr. Fujimoto also described one of your corrective 'actions in response to that incident.

Within thirty. days from the date of this letter, please provide a written response that describes the incident in detail, focusing in particular on:

1) whether the supervisor's comment to the employee was intended as.a threat of termination or other sanction, or was,perceived as such by any attendees at the meeting, thus perhaps constituting a violation of 10 CFR 50.7(f);
2) if there was such a threat, whether it was implemented; and 3) your corrective actions in response to the incident, e.g., training or written instructions to employees.

In your response, please provide as well a'isting of the meeting attendees.

In accord with 10 CFR 2.790, a copy of this letter will be placed in the NRC Public Document.

To the extent that your response contains information that should not be placed iri the PDR, please note in your cover letter the basis for such a claim, with reference to section 2.790.
