Dear Ms. Wasden:

July 26, 1991 In your letter of October 5, 1989 to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), you requested that we send you a copy of the NRC staff's conclusions regarding the Diablo Canyon Long-Term Seismic Program (LTSP) being conducted to reassess the seismic safety of the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant.

In our response dated November I, 1989, we promised to send you a copy of the NRC staff's safety evaluation report on the LTSP when issued.

The staff's safety evaluation report on the LTSP has recently been issued, and a copy is enclosed.

I hope that the enclosed safety evaluation report addresses any concerns you may have regarding the seismic safety of the Diablo Canyon plant.
