We would like,to invite you and members of your staff to participate in a Operability/Degraded Equipment
- Workshop, scheduled to be held at the Hilton
., Hotel, located in Arlington, Texas, on February 17 and 18, 1993.'he objective of the workshop is to provide a.forum for utility personnel, who are responsible for operability determinations, to discuss and develop a better understanding of Generic Letter 91-18, "Resolution of Degraded and Nonconforming Conditions and Operability Determinations."
The workshop will have breakout sessions wher e ea'ch participant will be provided the opportunity to raise questions and provide 'their perspective on the operability process.
This workshop will be an interactive technical conference and will require active involvement from all participants.
We request that you inform the Region V office of the estimated number of your staff who wish to attend the conference no later than January 22, 1993.
Please complete the attached.'form for each participant and fax or phone this information to Region V no later than January 26, 1993..

Because of the space available, attendance at the workshop may have to be limited, depending on the level of response.
For this reason, notification of attendance should be made as soon as possible.

.preregister will be allowed to attend the workshop only if space is available.
A tentative agenda for the conference is attached.
Registration for the conference will take place between 8 a.m.
and 1 p.m.

The purpose of this letter is to invite you to participate as a breakout session facilitator on February 17 and 18, 1993, at a workshop, hosted by Regions IV and V, to be held in Arlington, Texas.
This letter formally confirms our previous telephone discussion regarding your participation.
The topic of the workshop will be the discussion of operability/degraded equipment, as specified in the NRC's Generic Letter 91-18,
" Information to Licensees Regarding Two NRC Inspection Hanual Sections on Resolution of Degraded and Nonconforming Conditions and on Operability."
A copy of the tentative agenda is attached for your information.
Registration for the workshop will take place between 8 a.m.
and 1 p.m.
on February 17, 1993.
= Breakout session faci litators will meet for instructions during a portion of the registration period; therefore, facilitators will have to arrive early to accommodate the instructional period and the registration period.
Accordingly, it would be best if you can arrive during the evening of February 16, 1993.
