DIABLO CANYON ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE ACTIVITIES Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PGE),
be letter dated April 1, 1988, has provided us information concerning activities scheduled to take place near Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant within archaeological site CA-SLO-2.
Diablo Canyon is located in San Luis Obispo County, California.
The letter (copy enclosed) advises that the Diablo Canyon wastewater holding pond will be closed in compliance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976, as amended.
PGE states that a Hazardous Waste Closure Plan has been approved by the Environ-mental Protection Agency, the California Regional Water guality Control Board and the California Department of Health Services.
Additional details concerning the closure are contained in the letter from PGE.
This information is provided to you in accordance with 36 CFR part 800 and 10 CFR Part 51, in order to keep your office abreast of archaeological activ-ities occurring near nuclear power plants.
