Based on the information provided in the submission, PAB finds that the SG submission includes sufficient detail for acceptance. PAB will move forward with the technical review and provide RAIs and/or a TER by 12/20/16.

MIT Financial Assurance Update - Self Guarantee HI Chris, This is the annual update for MIT. I have spoken to Reggie about this, as he continues with the Decommissioning Funding Plan for the MIT renewal and it dovetails well with that. We decided this would best be handled as a separate item, just to ensure Reggies workload is identified. He has done the reviews the last 3 years and is quite familiar with the program. I wanted you to review the dates and ensure these work for the PAB. I am in the process of getting a CAC and will send that directly to Reggie.
Ty The Fuel Manufacturing Branch of the Division of Fuel Cycle Safety, Safeguards and Environmental Review requests technical assistance for the following project:
PROJECT: Massachusetts Institute of Technology DOCKET NO: 0700-0938 LICENSE NO: SNM-986 CAC NO: L3 ADAMS NO: ML16286A207 REQUESTED ACTION: Review the Instrument for an Update to Financial Assurance (Parent Guarantee) submitted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology material licensees identified on the docketed correspondence. Determine if there are major deficiencies that make the submittal unacceptable for detailed review and prepare a recommendation to accept or deny (if required). Prepare requests for additional information, if needed. Evaluate any additional information submitted. Participate in meetings, conference calls, and site visits, if necessary. Provide input for a Final Report.
The above task is estimated to require approximately 40 staff hours.
