[External_Sender] Service's letter to NRC dated June 20, 2016 Briana As you know, during our teleconference on November 3, 2016, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) provided clarification to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) regarding their role in the regulation of Units 3 and 4 located at Florida Power and Light's (FPL) Turkey Point Power Plant in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The NRC indicated that they have no regulatory authority over the environmental conditions at the Cooling Canal System, other than requiring that the waters in the CCS not exceed the ultimate heat sink temperature of 104 degrees Fahrenheit when Units 3 and 4 are being operated. Based on this information, the Service rescinds our request for reinitiation of consultation provided in our letter to the NRC dated June 20, 2016, for the NRC's amendment of the operation license to FPL that allows an extended power uprate,.
