Friday, September 23, 2016 5:06:41 PM Decisions of this magnitude will affect so many people in so many ways, two important facts that need to be considered:
Employment: Oswego County suffers from a high rate of unemployment, I believe more than any other county in New York State. The loss of jobs would be devastating.
Health: The FitzPatrick plant is considered old for a nuclear plant. How safe would it be to keep it running? Is is worth taking the chance? Has a study even been done to compare health issues in Oswego with other cities that have a nuclear plant the same age as FitzPatrick? (cancer, parkinsons, dementia, alzheimers, etc.?)
We have to ask, At what cost do we keep this plant up and running?
