Complete Enclosed is the Plant Systems Branch input to the Safety Evaluation Report for the Duke Power-Company's (DPC) propo'sed modification to the spent fuel storage pools for the Oconee Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2.
We have reviewed the issues of criticality, cooling, rack installation, and fuel handling as they are discussed in the licensee's submittal supporting its proposed amendments to the facility's operating licenses.
We find-DPC's application for the license amendments acceptable with respect to the above listed issues, provided that the uranium-235 loading fo fuel assemblies that are to be placed in the pool is limited to the amount established as acceptable in this report and provided.that the additional spent fuel pool cooling capacity, which is described in the proposal, is installed in the..first quarter of 1980.1 G.
