SUMMARY

OF MEETING WITH THE BABCOCK AND WILCOX OWNERS GROUP OCTOBER 24, 1979, ON ASYMMETRIC LOCA LOADS The Babcock and Wilcox Owners Group met with the staff on October 24, 1979, to present their progress and schedule for resolution of the Asymmetric LOCA Loads Evaluation. The B&W Owners project that the evaluation for all B&W plants will not be complete until July 1980.

The staff has reviewed the B&W Owners progress to date and their projected schedule. The staff recommends that the following stipulations be met by each licensee.

1. A report should be submitted on each plant docket on or before February 15, 1980, This is consistant with the two year requirement,from receipt of our letterto licensees(January 25, 1978).

2. This report should include as a minimum the following: evaluation of the reactor vessel supports; evaluation of the component supports; evaluation of the attached ECCS piping; and a statement addressing justification for continued operation pending completion of the required evaluation.

3. The final report including the completed evaluation for each plant should be submitted on the docket no later than July 1, 1980.
