NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-269/93-31, 50-270/93-31 AND 50-287/93-31 Gentlemen:

This concerns your response of February 8, 1995, to our January 6, 1995, letter regarding the potential blowdown of two steam generators following a single line break (Deviation 50-269,270,287/93-31-01).

Pending further engineering analysis on your part, it is our understanding that valves MS-33 and MS-84 will remain closed on all three units to prevent the potential dual steam generator blowdown following a break in either the auxiliary steam header or the turbine driven emergency feedwater pump steam header. We will review the results of your additional engineering analysis, as well as your indicated Final Safety Analysis Report revisions, during future inspections.

We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Sincerely, Original signed by Jon R. Johnson (for)
