Dear Dr. Piefer:

By letter dated April 27, 2016 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML16118A455), SHINE Medical Technologies, Inc. (SHINE),

submitted a request for an exemption related to the implementation of safeguards information requirements described in Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations 73.21, Protection of Safeguards Information: Performance Requirements.

On June 22, 2016 (ADAMS Accession No. ML16174A347), SHINE submitted a letter to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) withdrawing the exemption request, citing that the exemption was no longer required.

This correspondence acknowledges SHINEs withdrawal of the April 27, 2016, exemption request related to safeguards information requirements. No further action will be taken by the NRC staff on this matter.
