- The Unit 1 Cycle 20 core contains 56 RCCAs with no RCCA installed at SOUTH TEXAS PROJECT core location D-6. Unit 1 has seven UNITS 1 & 2 (7) rods for shutdown bank SA. The total number of rods for Unit 1 is RODCLUSTER CONTROL ASSEMBLY PATTERN twenty-seven (27) for the shutdown banks.
