INSTRUMENTATI TO DETECT INADEQUATE CORE COOLING R OCONEE Duke Power Company has told me that its May 25, 1982 submittal concerning a proposed water inventory monitoring system.for its Oconee units has not been answered by the staff.
I.
would appreciate it if you would inform Duke Power of the status of its May 25, 1982 submittal and its relationship to the December 1982 Orders on instrumentation to detect inadequate core cooling.
I understand the staff may have deferred responding to the Duke submittal because during most of 1982 the Commission and staff were deliberating on the issue of instrumentation to detect inadequate core cooling. However, I believe it is now appropriate to close the loop with Duke on its May 25, 1982 submittal so there is no misunderstanding.
