NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-269/93-31, 50-270/93-31 AND
50-287/93-31
Thank you for your response of February 24, 1994, to our Notice of Violation
and Notice of Deviation issued on January 25, 1994, concerning activities
conducted at your Oconee facility.
We have evaluated your response to
Violation 287/93-31-03 and found that it meets the requirements of
10 CFR 2.201. We will examine the implementation of your corrective actions
during future inspections.
Your response denied Violation 269, 270, 287/93-31-02. We are evaluating your
response to this violation and will provide you with the results of our
evaluation at a later date.
Your response to the Notice of Deviation did not adequately address the NRC
concerns of simultaneously blowing down both steam generators in the event of
a steam line break in the auxiliary steam header downstream of motor operated
valves MS-24 and MS-33. During a telephone conversation between you and Mr.
Mark Lesser of my staff on March 9, 1994, you stated that you would supplement
your response by providing us with your analysis of the postulated break
scenario, with the temporary interruption of heat sink, by April 8, 1994.
