IN-VIVO BIOASSAY MEASUREMENTS FOR MPC-HOURS DETERMINATION In response to your letter of December 2, 1991, concerning the subject above.
We have no objection to your use of air sample MPC-hours for planning purposes with subsequent assignment of actual MPC-hours based on bioassay.
- However, the planned MPC-hours must not exceed 40 per seven consecutive days or 520 per quarter, before assignment of actual MPC-hours based on timely bioassays.
If you anticipate an extended need for working in excess of the MPC. for iodine concentrations, we suggest that. you may wish to seek approval to allow credit for a radioiodine protection factor of 50, consistent with the Enclosure.
