The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (Commission) has issued the enclosed Amendment No. 209 to the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant (Farley), Unit 1, Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-2; Amendment No. 206 to Farley, Unit 2, Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-8; Amendment No. 283 to the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant (Hatch), Unit 1, Renewed Facility Operating License DPR-57; Amendment No. 228 to Hatch, Unit 2, Renewed Facility Operating License NPF-5; Amendment No. 184 to the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (VEGP),
Unit 1, Renewed Facility Operating License NPF-68; Amendment No. 167 to VEGP, Unit 2, Renewed Facility Operating License NPF-81; Amendment No. 74 to VEGP, Unit 3, Facility Combined License NPF-91; and Amendment No. 73 to VEGP, Unit 4, Facility Combined License NPF-92. These amendments have been issued in response to your application dated August 31, 2015, as supplemented by letters dated February 17, 2016; April 8, 2016; May 13, 2016; May 26, 2016; June 9, 2016; and November 2, 2016.
The amendment approves a common (fleet-wide) Southern Nuclear Operating Company, Inc.
Standard Emergency Plan, site-specific annexes, and amendments to the Combined Licenses for VEGP, Units 3 and 4, to address conforming changes to emergency planning inspections, tests, analyses, and acceptance criteria.
A copy of the Safety Evaluations are enclosed. A Notice of Issuance will be included in the Commissions biweekly Federal Register notice.
