SUBJECT:
COMPLETION OF REVIEW OF NRC'S PERFORMANCE DURING OCONEE STEAM GENERATOR DRYOUT EVENT IN AUGUST 1994
Reference:
J. Taylor's memorandum to the Commission, dated September 14, 1995 The Oconee Event Review Team has completed its review and evaluation of the NRC's performance during the steam generator dryout event at Oconee Unit 3 on August 10, 1994. The team, consisting of five senior NRC and industry representatives, was formed by this office to conduct an in-depth evaluation of the licensee's and the staff's activities related to this event.
Attached is a copy of the team's final report which will be placed in the Public Document Room. I have tasked NRR to develop an action plan to implement the team's recommendations.
A copy of this report has been provided to Duke Power Company and INPO.

Jim Milhoan has also spoken with Michae Tuckman, Senior Vice President Nuclear Generation, Duke Power Compan and Zack Pate, President, INPO, both of whom indicated satisfaction with th team's conclusions and recommendations after reviewing the final report.
