April 19, 2016 The Honorable Edward Markey United States Senate Washington, DC 20510

Dear Senator Markey:

I am responding to your February 17, 2016, letter to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requesting documents pertaining to the Seabrook Station. Enclosed is an initial response containing four CDs of Revisions 12-16 for Seabrooks Updated Final Safety Analysis Reports, Chapter 3, Design of Structures, Components, Equipment and System. Two versions of the same information, redacted and unredacted, are provided. The two CDs that are marked for public release contain redacted pages. The NRC plans to make this information publicly available. The other two CDs are marked Not for Public Release because they contain security-related information, specifically physical plant drawings, that the NRC is withholding from public release under 5 USC Sections 552(b)(4) and 552(b)(7)(F). We request that these documents be held in confidence with access limited to members and committee staff.

Feel free to contact me at (301) 415-1776, if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

/RA Eugene Dacus, Director Office of Congressional Affairs
