Catawba Nuclear Station - DRAFT SE Re: Request for Approval of Measurement Uncertainty Recapture Power Uprate Attachments: MUR DRAFT SE.doc The Attachment May Contain Security-Related Information and Should Be Handled Accordingly Mr. Rudy, Attached is a copy of the DRAFT Safety Evaluation (SE) for the Catawba Measurement Uncertainty Recapture (MUR) Power Uprate. This SE is in response to your application dated June 23, 2014, as supplemented by letters dated August 26, 2014, December 15, 2014, January 22, 2015, April 23, 2015, and November 16, 2015.

Information provided in the application, and the supplemental letters, was marked as proprietary information in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Section 2.390. No information marked as proprietary in the application, or the supplements, was recreated in the SE. As such, the NRC staff has determined that the SE can be made publically available in its entirety.

Please review the DRAFT SE and confirm, by e-mail, that you agree with the NRC staffs determination that there is no proprietary information in the SE. Alternatively, if you believe that any information in the DRAFT SE is proprietary, please identify such information line-by-line.

Since the NRC review is not yet complete, this e-mail and the enclosure do not convey or represent an NRC staff position regarding the licensee's request. Should the amendment be approved, the NRC staff will issue a publicly available version of this SE with any identified proprietary information withheld and a proprietary version attached. The final SE will be issued after making any necessary changes. The NRC staff's disposition of your comments on the DRAFT SE will be discussed in the final SE.
